09/21/12 - Congratulations to the Lone Oak Purple Flash on a 54-7 victory over the visiting Calloway County Lakers as it marked the FINAL LONE OAK HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL HOMECOMING ever to be played. In addition to the emotion of this historic game, Lone Oak picked up a key 4-A District win with the victory. Lone Oak was led by Freshman quarterback Zyaire Hughes and Sophomore D.J. Sherrill. With the win, Lone Oak moves to 4-2 on the season. Alumni from all over the United States were present at The Graveyard in Paducah, Kentucky  for this historic game to see the Purple Flash, led by Coach Jack Haskins, once again thrill the home fans! 12/16/11 - Congratulations to Rachel Hughes for recording a TRIPLE-DOUBLE as the Bartlett Lady Panthers defeated the ECS Lady Eagles, 60-41. Hughes poured in 17 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and had an amazing 13 steals. The game was played at Thomas M. Farley, Jr. Memorial Gymnasium in Bartlett, Tennessee. (from, TN.)

05/20-21/2011. The Arlington Tigers and the Germantown Red Devils met in an outstanding game which was the longest high school Baseball game ever to be played in the State of Tennessee, going 18 innings and lasting 5 hours and 9 minutes, beginning on May 20th and concluding after midnight on May 21st. The stage was the 2011 West Tennessee Sub-State/Sectional at Arlington High School in Arlington, Tennessee. The game featured two totally dedicated teams that gave 110% of everything and created a masterpiece that will be talked about forever in Tennessee sports history. The conclusion to this classic was as fitting as the game itself as Senior Bug Cox delivered a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 18th to propel the Tigers to a 4-3 victory and send them to the Tennessee AAA State Tournament in Murfreesboro. 05/18/2011. The Arlington Tigers used a 5 run 6th inning to finish off the Bartlett Panthers Wednesday evening by a score of 10-4 in front of a standing room only crowd in Arlington, Tennessee. The win results in a 2nd straight Region 7-AAA championship for Arlington. Both teams will advance to Friday's Sub-State/Sectional Games. Arlington will host Germantown and Bartlett will travel to Collierville. The winning pitcher for this evening was Matt Ferguson. (from, TN.)

In this young season for the Bartlett Junior Varsity. they played in a Collierville tournament this week during spring break and went 3-2 . Here are there results going into the Houston/ Bartlett tournament next week.

Bartlett finishes 2-1 in the Murfreesboro Blackman Blaze Invitational this weekend. The Panthers are now 7-2 on the new 2011 season. In one

other game earlier today, Dyer County defeated Knoxville Farragut, 17-13.

The Bartlett JV welcomed our special guests and good neighbors to the north, the Winnipeg Rookies from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Scott Elrod

Field this evening for another exciting Baseball matchup. The game was action packed and a real treat for those in attendance. The Panthers came

away with the win, 11-5. The Panther JV squad is now 5-4 on the 2011 season. This game has become an annual tradition and is a highlight of the / broadcasting season. The winning pitcher was Hunter Barber with the save going to Dalton Burns. We appreciate our friends

from Winnipeg coming to Bartlett for this exciting game.

                                          February 2011

02/18/11-Marquarius Boddie accomplished something very unusual in a District Tournament game in Bartlett, Tennessee this evening. The Bartlett High School Junior recorded a double-double. While the accomplishment of a double-double is not rare, it is when he did it that made it remarkable. Boddie put it together with points and rebounds ALL IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE GAME. The game was a first round contest between the Bartlett Panthers and the Arlington Tigers which saw the Tigers upset the Panthers by a score of 71-67. It was played at Thomas M. Farley, Jr. Memorial Gymnasium in Bartlett, Tennessee. (from, TN.)

                                   August-September 2010

08/20/10-The Bartlett Panthers took the 2010 BHS Bowl, winning over the Bolton Wildcats by a score of 27-7. The game, played before a capacity crowd at Wildcat Stadium in Bolton, Tennessee has become an annual classic. It was the second straight year that the Panthers have taken the trophy and the 3rd out of the last 4. (from, TN.)

01/24/09-Jarrod Polson of West Jessamine High School (KY) broke the Kentucky High School free throw record and also scored 51 points in a game against Lexington Catholic High School (KY). Polson's outstanding performance led the Colts to their first ever victory over the Knights, 102-92. (from Central Kentucky Sports Network-Nicholasville, KY.)

02/05/09-Jeffrey Dockett of Bartlett High School (TN) had a TRIPLE-DOUBLE in a Freshmen game against Millington High School (TN). Dockett had 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 steals in leading the Panthers to a 71 -32 win over the Trojans. (from, TN.)

02/06/ completed it's 600th Bartlett High School (TN) broadcast event this evening as Bartlett (TN) took on Millington (TN) at Osteen Gymnasium in Millington. (from, TN.) 

02/11/09-A HUGE matchup of two of Southeast Missouri's top high school Basketball teams, Scott County Central took on Sikeston for the first time in 38 years. The big game was played in front of over 7,000 fans at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau.
Sikeston won the game 86-85. Sikeston was lead by Michael Porter with 33 points and Scott County Central's Otto Porter poured in 22. (from KFVS, Channel 12-Cape Girardeau, MO.)

03/06/09-University of Vermont's Marquis Blakely. (Metchuen, N.J./Metchuen), has repeated as America East Men's Basketball Player of the Year, becoming just the fifth player in conference history to take home the award in consecutive seasons. Click here for full story. (from Vermont Sports Network-Burlington, VT.)

03/12/09-Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau has named a new head Men's Basketball coach. Dickey Nutt, former Arkansas State University Men's Basketball coach will lead the SEMO program. (from KFVS, Channel 12-Cape Girardeau, MO.)

03/12/09-# 1 ranked Kamehameha-Kapalama has won the Hawaii D-1 State Basketball Championship, outlasting #2 Kahuku, 47-45. The game was played in front of over 5,200 fans at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu. In the D-2 State Championship game, it was Kailua over Castle, 53-36. (from KKEA-Honolulu, HI.)

03/12/09-Tennessee High School's Lady Vikings from Bristol made their first ever trip to the State Basketball Tournament. The Lady Vikings made a strong showing before falling in the Elite 8 game to tournament favorite Memphis Central, 51-39. (from TriCities, TN.)

03/13/09-The Iditarod Race from Anchorage to Nome is now underway with the defending champion Lance Mackey in the lead. (from KICY-Nome, AK.)

03/13/09-The Nome Boys, Elim Boys, and Golovan Girls Basketball Teams will be playing in the Alaska State Basketball Tournament next week in Anchorage. (from KICY-Nome, AK.)

03/13/09-The Dexter Lady Bearcats finish 4th place in the Missouri State Class 4 Tournament and wrap up the season with a 28-2 record. (from KFVS, Channel 12-Cape Girardeau, MO.)

03/13/09-The Kimberly High School Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs from Kimberly, ID have enjoyed a strong start to their Spring Sports season. The Bulldog Baseball team recorded a double header win over Glens Ferry, 5-0 and 5-3, while the Lady Bulldog Softball team also won a double header over Glens Ferry, 35-0 and 15-0. The Bulldog and Lady Bulldog Track teams swept their meets and the Bulldog and Lady Bulldog Golf teams swept their matches. Bulldog Golfer Gage Huft carded a match low 33 to lead the team to victory. 03/13/09-The Boys and Girls Basketball teams from Point Hope, Wainwright, and Barrow will be playing in the Alaska State High School Basketball Tournament next week in Anchorage. (from KBRW-Barrow, AK.)

03/14/09-Woodlawn (30-2) is the 2009 Class A Illinois Boys Basketball State Runner-up. Meridian Macon outlasted Woodlawn 63-53 at Carver Arena in Peoria. 03/14/09-Region 6 Champion Louisville Iroquois has won the Kentucky Sweet 16 Girls High School Basketball Tournament over Region 5 Champion Elizabethtown, 55-47 in overtime. The game was played at Western Kentucky University's Diddle Arena in Bowling Green. The Boys Sweet 16 Tournament will get underway Wednesday, March 18 at Noon from Rupp Arena in Lexington. 03/15/09-The results from all classifications in the Tennessee Girls High School Basketball Tournament are now complete. Div.1-Class A, Clarkrange (38-0) defeated Madison (28-8), 57-31 / Div.1-Class AA, Gibson County (34-0) defeated Livingston Academy (24-13), 54-34 / Div.1-Class AAA, Hillsboro (32-1) defeated Memphis Central (35-2), 62-61 / Div.2-Class A, Bishop Byrne defeated Lausanne, 42-39 / Div.2-Class AA, Knoxville Webb defeated Ensworth, 50-39. 03/16/09-The University of Vermont Women's Basketball team won over Boston University, 74-66 to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2000. The Vermont Men's Basketball team has accepted a bid to play in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI). The Catamounts will play Green Bay in the first round of the tournament on Wednesday at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Other games in the CBI Tournament include: UTEP vs. Nevada, St. Johns vs. Richmond, Charleston vs. Troy, Buffalo vs. Wichita State, Houston vs. Oregon State, and Boise State vs. Stanford. 03/18/09-Lance Mackey has won the 2009 Iditarod Race. The Fairbanks (AK) musher made it into Nome this morning just after 11:30 to claim his 3rd Iditarod Title in a row. (from KICY-Nome, AK.)

10/30/09-The Bartlett Panthers claimed a berth in the 2009 Tennessee State 5-A Playoffs with a stunning 28-0 upset victory over the heavily favored Memphis Craigmont Cheifs
Friday evening at Bartlett Panther Stadium in Bartlett, Tennessee. The Panthers were led by Senior Willie Matthews with 210 yards rushing on 39 carries and 3 touchdowns. The Panther defense held the powerful Chief offense to just 83 total yards for the entire game.  Willie Matthews, with his outstanding Senior Night performance, becomes the all-time leader in rushing for a single season in the history of Bartlett High School Football. The Panthers travel to Orange Mound to meet the Memphis Melrose Golden Wildcats to open playoff action on Friday, Nov. 6. (from, TN.)

10/31/09-The Lone Oak Purple Flash in Paducah, Kentucky finished another perfect season, (10-0), their second perfect season in three years, with a 34-0 victory over their cross-town rival, the Heath Pirates. The win also secured for the Purple Flash the McCracken County Championship and they have earned yet another trip to the Kentucky State 4-A Playoffs. Lone Oak, under the leadership of head coach Jack Haskins, has put together a regular season record of 29-1 over the past 3 years and their overall record, including playoff games for the same time period is 34-3, being the Kentucky State 4-A Runner-up in 2007. The Purple Flash take on Russell County Friday, Nov. 6 in the opening round of the playoffs. (from, TN.)
