Lone Oak (KY) vs Paducah Tilghman (KY), First Round of the 2nd District Boys Basketball Tournament, Feb. 28, 1973, from Heath High School-West Paducah, KY. This classic game has gone down as one of the Commonwealth of Kentucky's biggest upsets of all time. Play-by-play is called by legendary Paducah area sportscaster George "Gabby" Bell and he is assisted by Robert Davis, Cobbo Wyatt, and Shorty Ford. There are also interviews with Paducah area legendary coaches Albert Norris, Berney Miller, and Glen Earl Dexter. This exciting game is truly a Mid-South Classic. Bartlett (TN) vs O'Fallon (IL), Dec. 29, 2003, in the Centralia Holiday Tournament. This exciting game, which was called by The Original Sky Box Crew of Ken Opperman, Eric Opperman, Matthew Cooper, and Mike Cooper, featured the underdog Bartlett Panthers climbing back to take the lead with 10 seconds left and seemingly pulling the big upset...only to be stunned by an unbelievalbe desperation shot at the buzzer producing the O'Fallon win and one of the most memorable, (even though heartbreaking for Bartlett Fans), calls made by the Bartlett Sky Box Crew's Eric Opperman.
Lone Oak (KY) vs Graves County (KY), Feb. 26, 2004, a key Mid-South Matchup, (Girls & Boys Basketball) was called by Matthew Cooper and Mike Cooper on WVWT.com. These games, played before an overflow crowd at Lone Oak High School's John Robinson Arena in Paducah, KY., helped set the stage for the exciting post-season play which started the next week. Lone Oak won both games, the Lady Flash by 4, 40-36, and the Purple Flash, an exciting 63-61 double-overtime victory.
Bartlett (TN) vs Memphis (TN) Harding Academy, Nov. 16, 2004, the opening game of the 2004-2005 Basketball season for the Bartlett Panthers saw them erase a 20 point Harding Lion lead and win in overtime, 78-71. The game, played at Thomas M. Farley, Jr. Memorial Gymnasium in Bartlett was called by The Bartlett Sky Box Crew's Matthew Cooper, Eric Opperman, and Mike Cooper.
Bartlett (TN) vs Germantown(TN), Feb. 10, 2005, the Shelby County Freshman Boys District Championship, gave the Panthers the title for the first time since the early 90's and provided for a thrilling 66-55 Bartlett win. Bartlett (TN) vs Tuscaloosa County (AL), Mar. 31, 2005, the Bartlett Panthers erase a 7-0 deficit to claim a 9-7, come-from-behind victory at Scott Elrod Field in Bartlett. Bartlett (TN) vs South Doyle (TN), 2007 AAA Tennessee State Baseball Championship, May 24, 2007, this exciting game produced Bartlett's first ever Baseball State Championship. Bartlett (TN) vs Arlington (TN), Sept. 14, 2007, the first ever varsity Football matchup between the two schools provided a last second win for the Bartlett Panthers, 29-28 in another key Region 7-AAA matchup. The game, played at Bartlett Panther Stadium before yet another capacity crowd was called by The Bartlett Sky Box Crew's Matthew Cooper, Mike Cooper, and Jonathan Sturdivant.
Bartlett (TN) vs Millington (TN), Feb. 8, 2008, the Bartlett Lady Panthers upset top-ranked Millington, handing the Lady Trojans their first defeat of the 2007-2008 Basketball season by the score of 56-43. Juliet (TN), 2008 AAA Tennessee State Baseball Tournament, First Round, May 20, 2008, this exciting game, which was called by The Bartlett Sky Box Crew's Matthew Cooper and Mike Cooper, had one of the most unbelievable come-from-behind wins, as the Bartlett Panthers won 4-3. The game was played at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Bartlett (TN) vs Cairo ( IL), 2008 45th Annual Carbondale Holiday Tournament, Second Round-Consolation Bracket, December 28, 2008, this memorable game featured the underdog Panthers leading most of the way, only to have Cairo tie it up and force overtime. It would take two overtime periods but the Panthers won a thriller, 92-83. The game was played at Carbondale High School in Carbondale, Illinois and was called by The Bartlett Sky Box Crew's Mike Cooper.
Bartlett (TN) vs Bolton (TN), Jan. 27, 2009, These exciting games feature one of Tennessee's longest-standing and most fierce Basketball rivalries, as well as extremely important Girl's and Boy's District 14-AAA matchups. Bartlett won both games, the Girls by a score of 41-33 and the Boys by 8, 84-76. This was the first time in four years that the Panther Boys have defeated the Wildcat Boys. The game was called by The Bartlett Sky Box Crew's Mike Cooper and was played at Bolton High School in Bolton, Tennessee.
Bartlett (TN) vs Millington (TN), Feb. 5, 2009, This exciting Freshmen Shebly County District Matchup saw Bartlett Guard Jeffrey Dockett record a TRIPLE-DOUBLE, pouring in 23 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and making 10 steals. He also added 2 assists in leading Bartlett to a 71-32 victory. This game also saw the Panthers outscore the Trojans 27 to 1 in the 2nd quarter. The game was played at Osteen Gymnasium in Millington, Tennessee and was called by The Bartlett Sky Box Crew's Mike Cooper and Jonathan Sturdivant.
Bartlett (TN) vs Bolton (TN), Oct. 23, 2009, THE BIG ONE-THE BHS BOWL, 2009 Edition. This exciting Football matchup, played at Bartlett Panther Stadium saw the Bolton Wildcats storm out to a 14-0 lead and what was shaping up to be an easy night for the Panther's cross-town rival. However, the Panthers would not be denied and they added a score in the last 30 seconds of the 1st half to make the score 14-7 at the break. On the opening kickoff of the 2nd half, Junior Coley Sontag took the ball 62 yards for the score and the PAT tied the game at 14. This HUGE play did more than just tie the game however, it fueled an unbelievable Panther rally that saw Bartlett put 10 more points on the board in the 2nd half, (a 35 yard field goal by Wale Akinbobola, a Willie Matthews touchdown, and another PAT by Caleb Prince)....and all of a sudden, Bartlett had scored 24 unanswered points after Bolton took the 14-0 lead. The Wildcats did add a field goal late in the game, but the Panthers prevailed 24-17. The game was called by The Bartlett Sky Box Crew's Matthew Cooper, Mike Cooper, and Jonathan Sturdivant.
vs Atlanta Holy Innocence, (GA.), Mar. 18, 2011. This early 2011 season
game saw one of the most unusual 7th innings and a totally incredible
finish as Senior Chandler Hawkins wins the game for the Bartlett
Panthers as with 2 outs, he drives a 2 ball-2 strike pitch over the
right-center field wall to create the 8-7 victory with the 3-run
walk-off home run. The game was called by The Bartlett Sky Box Crew's
Matthew Cooper, Mike Cooper, and Stuart Settles.
vs Cullman, (AL.), Apr. 1, 2011. This incredible game had all the makings
of a traditional "April Fool" except this was no joke!!! An astounding
comeback by the Bartlett Panthers in the bottom of the 7th inning to
force extra innings. Then, in the bottom of the 9th, Senior Charles
Kelley drove a pitch out of Scott Elrod Field for a 3-run walk-off home
run which gave the Panthers the unbelievable 12-9 win. This Mid-South
Classic was called by The Bartlett Sky Box Crew's Matthew Cooper, Mike
Cooper, Jonathan Sturdivant, and Stuart Settles.
vs Germantown (TN), May 20-21, 2011. This outstanding game is the longest
high school Baseball game ever to be played in the State of Tennessee,
going 18 innings and lasting 5 hours and 9 minutes, beginning on May 20th
and concluding after midnight on May 21st. The stage was the 2011 West
Tennessee Sub-State/Sectional at Arlington High School in Arlington,
Tennessee. The game featured two totally dedicated teams that gave 110%
of everything and created a masterpiece that will be talked about
forever in Tennessee sports history. The conclusion to this classic was
as fitting as the game itself as Senior Bug Cox delivered a walk-off
home run in the bottom of the 18th to produce the 4-3 Arlington Tiger
win and propel the Tigers to the Tennessee State Tournament in
